Although it was short lived, I was the chair of the communications committee. I left tile positions due to disagreements with the board on how open communications between the board and the community should be. The more communications the better.
The major issues the board should address In the next year are Engineering Study, Governing Documents, Modernizing Access Control and Vendor Requirements.
Why do I think I am ready for this job? I have had many jobs in many fields over the years and feel it has prepared me for this job. I have been a board member in several non-profit organizations. I have always been involved in community organizations, CERT, AM VETS, Scouting, neighborhood organizations and political parties. Some in leadership and some as a member, always doing the work required to raise funds and help community members.
I have worked in customer facing positions from front line in the restaurant industry to on site technical consultant for a fortune l00 company.
I am the person in the meeting that always asks the question Why are we doing this? Why this way? The answer we have always done it this way is never an acceptable answer. I believe the current board has bogged down into day-to-day functions that the vendors should be handling I feel the board should prioritize completing the engineering study, updating the governing documents, update the community website, change the format of the monthly board meetings to allow more community involvement. Ensuring the board makes available all information the residents are entitled to have on the website will have my full attention. Ensuring the access control process and systems are up to date and effective from a customer service perspective will allow us to be a community again.
