I grew up in a typical Midwestern community with neighbors looking out for neighbors, similar to our community here. I attended high school with my future husband, later college together, married, then started to explore the world compliments of the U.S. Army. We soon went from the two of us to a family of five.
Our careers flourished, with his as a military officer and mine as a U.S. government public servant. We have had our fair share of struggles, just as everyone else. It was in our most horrific personal struggle, the loss of a child, that the power of community and the importance of standing together was realized.
I want to be a voice for those who feel unheard, a champion for those busy working to support their families, and a force for positive change. By stepping into this role, I WILL make a difference in the lives of individuals and families and the overall well-being of our community. I am grateful for the journey that brought me here. The hardships we faced as a family have shaped us and made us more resilient. I want you to know that I am here to listen, to understand, and to be a voice for you.
Only together can we build a community we are all proud to call home.
